Cool Down with these Adult Snow Cones


Snow cones for grown ups?  Yes, please!  The better the wine, the better this will taste.  Very light and positively delicious.

Your List:

1 cup water
3/4 cup sugar
2 cups good red wine – Cabernet or Pinot Noir
About 4 cinnamon sticks
3/4 cup fresh lemon juice
1 1/2 cup cranberry juice


In a saucepan, stir water, sugar, wine, and cinnamon sticks together and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in juices then refrigerate until cold. Pour in a 9″ x 9″ pan and put it into the freezer. Give it a stir every 1/2 hour or so with a fork to break up crystals, until frozen–about three hours. Before service, let it sit out for a few minutes until slightly soft. Beat with a whisk until fluffy and scoop into goblets. Serves 8.
