Haven’s 12 Days of Christmas: 2

by DENNIS KEMPTON

I love bags.  I have so many of them that sometimes I surprise myself by looking in my wardrobe to find one I haven’t used in a long while.  By far, my favorite bags are from Tumi. The company was founded in 1975 by Charlie Clifford after he served in the Peace Corps in Peru.  Tumi derives its name after a Peruvian ceremonial knife used for sacrifices.  The bags are known for their black-on-black ballistic nylon.  And, yes, they’re very durable.  What I love about these bags is that they’re not fussy.  They’re all sleek lines, classic looks, and go with anything.  My favorite Tumi bag that I carry around is a simple brown leather bag just large enough to carry a copy of GQ or an iPad.   These bags and tech accessories make perfect gifts for people who travel or are devoted urban adventurers.  They’re exceedingly high quality and they’ll last for years.  And, that makes it all worth the price.
